Our Community

A group of five smiling women sit around a wooden table at a booth in a stylish bar. There are candles on the table and plants decorating the wall behind them.

Freya Project Readers

We invite women and non-binary people to read at our events. The people who participate in our events are writers, actors, activists, doctors, teachers, and are all active participants in their communities.

Organizations We Support

The Freya Project supports small non-profit organizations who strive to fight social injustices and provide practical services for the communities they serve. We seek out small, often volunteer-run, community based organizations who tackle big problems on small budgets. Our hope is that any donation we make will be meaningful enough to provide tangible relief and be a real resource for these organizations. Our priority is to support women and non-binary people in every way that we can.

Our Grants Program

The Freya Project annually awards grants to support the vital work being done by our former readers. Our Meret and Juno grants offer unrestricted funds for writers to support their work in any way they choose: funding a retreat, childcare, research, and more. Additionally, The Freya Project offers travel and residency support as we are able in partnership with writers and literary organizations.
